Went up to Threipmuir Reservoir this afternoon. As part of a new year’s resolution to go open water swimming, @hazzacol figured we should get in some water once a month. In January we did the Northumberland sea. Today, this reservoir for a twenty second cold splash. Helps with defeating the flinch, and makes it more likely that we’ll go for a proper swim when we get the chance in the summer. Also, it’s just nice to be out on such a beautiful day. ☀️

Went out for a walk for a few hours on the Inland Pack Track today. Sunshine and lots of birds. My favourite were a group of inquisitive Fantails that followed me down the track. Amazing wee things.
Leaving Punakaiki tomorrow and heading up to the Motueka and Kaiteriteri area to get ready for the Heaphy Track, the last big walk of this trip.

Beautiful morning - woke up at sunrise (easy to do when you are sleeping in a car with no curtains!) and went for a jog around Lake Matheson at Fox Glacier. A very beautiful place, with reflections of the mountains, and the mist rising from the lake surface.
