Went through Hobart today and visited the MOMA Gallery - a surreal experience of art and architecture.
Ended up in Mount Field Camp, next to Russel Falls. Pretty calm and peaceful. Need to sleep a bit better, as my body is still complaining about the Freycinet 29km. π΄ π¦πΊ #australia #tasmania

A grey and misty day today in Eastern Tassie. Changeable like Scotland! Drove down from Coles Bay to Port Arthur to visit the historic convict prison. Really interesting to see one of the key places in Australian history, and also in British “justice”. The “Separate Prison” was the most interesting bit, linking the ideas from Pentonville in the UK to Pennsylvania and Tasmanian prison systems. A really good book on this is “The Fatal Shore” by Robert Hughes.

Left Lilydale this morning and drove over to the North East. Stopped at the “Blue Tier Big Tree” walk…and saw the big tree. π³ Bit of a worrying drive with the camper down a single track gravel road. Spoke to some local people who said they were trying to get the area turned into a nature reserve. Big trees deserve better.

We went over to Kanangra National Park yesterday, to the Walls Lookout and Waterfall. We had the place to ourselves, so took some time to play with my ND filter for the camera. Managed to get this pic of the waterfall with the fallen trees. Lovely light reflections on the wood. Really pleased! π
